Zone IV Hockey Awards

Top Defensive Team Award  

 

The top defensive team award is presented to the team with the lowest goals against average. Attaining a goal against average during the regular season of 2.02, the Mountain Mustangs are this years recipients.

 

 

Charlie Maykut Fair Play Award

 

The Charlie Maykut Fair Play Award is given to the team with the fewest total penalty minutes in a season.  This years recipients had a league low of 11.4 minutes per game - congratulations to the MCI Blues.

 

 

Scoring Champion Awardmost accumulated points

 

The top scorer award goes to the individual player who has accumulated the most points during regular season play. Congratulations to Nico Chanel of the Mountain Mustangs. Nico scored 16 goals and 36 assists for 52 points in 24 games. 

 

 

Top Goaltender Award

 

The top goaltender award is determined by a vote of all the coaches of the league. This year’s winner of the top goaltender award had 10 wins and 5 losses with a .914 save percentage with a GAA of 2.37. Congratulations to Reed Peters of the Morden Thunder.

 

 

Most Sportsmanlike Player Award – combination of skill and sportsmanship

 

The most sportsmanlike player award is given to players who demonstrate both a high level of skill and sportsmanship in the game.  This award is voted on by all of the coaches of the league. This year’s winner with 40 points and had only 10 min in penalties. Congratulations to Jory Mullen of the Pembina Tigers.

 

 

Most Valuable Player Award

 

The league MVP is nominated by his team and then voted on by the coaches of the league.  The league MVP demonstrates skill, sportsmanship, and leadership that is evident not only to his own team, but to the players and coaching staff of the opposing teams. This year’s winner has led the league in points throughout the season. Congratulations to Nico Chanel of the Mountain Mustangs.

 

 

Play-off Most Valuable Player

 

The play-off MVP is given to the player deemed most valuable to their team during the playoffs.  The contribution to their team’s success is also recognized by the opposition teams they encounter. Congratulations to Nico Chanel of the Mountain Mustangs
